The Loop by Hachiroku is a Japanese restaurant in Audubon, at 367 Orange St, New Haven, CT 06511. It’s open every day from 10:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m., which makes it easy to fit into a lunch run or an early dinner plan. It’s also opened a second Japanese grocery store and market, so this is one of those places that does a little more than one thing without making a big speech about it. If you’re on Orange Street, it’s a straightforward stop.
Taktouah is a new Moroccan restaurant at 283 Crown St in Downtown New Haven. Ammar Badawi opened it this week, so it’s very much a fresh addition to the block. That’s the basic read: Moroccan food, Crown Street, Downtown. If you’re keeping track of what’s new in New Haven, this one belongs on the list.
