’Sup, New Haven? is an independent local guide. Nobody can pay their way into a recommendation, and nothing in this policy is for sale.
What we cover and why
We cover restaurants, bars, events, and things to do in and around New Haven, CT. Places make it into the directory because we think they matter to people who live here — not because they asked, advertised, or paid.
Where our information comes from
Event listings are aggregated from venue calendars, box offices, and public feeds, and every event links back to its original source. News headlines are collected from local outlets — the New Haven Independent, the New Haven Register, the Yale Daily News, and others — and always link to the original reporting; we summarize, we don't republish. Directory details come from venues' own websites, menus, and local news coverage. Where a listing shows a “Last verified” date, that's when an editor last confirmed its details directly.
How we use automation
We use software — including AI tools — to help gather event data, watch local news for restaurant openings and closings, and draft roundups. Automated drafts about the restaurant scene are reviewed by an editor before they affect the directory. We think tools like these make a small local site possible; we also think you deserve to know we use them.
Advertising doesn't buy coverage
Sponsored placements and paid notices are labeled, and they never change a ranking, a review, or whether a place appears in our guides. The details are on the advertising & sponsorship page.
Corrections
When we get something wrong — an address, a closing, a date — we fix the page rather than let the error stand. Spot a mistake? Email supnewhaven@gmail.com and we'll sort it out.
Reader contributions
Letters, columns, and event submissions from readers are reviewed before publication. We edit for length and clarity, and we decline spam, impersonation, and abuse. See the terms of use for the ground rules.
